Spiderfly

As a fan of the Avatar: The Last Airbender, I like the fantasy creatures that they have imagined. One such creature was one that was only mentioned in passing conversation. The Spiderfly. When I heard it my imagination fired off. In my head I saw it as a combination of a dragonfly and a net-casting spider.

When in flight, the hind two pair of legs are perched backwards. When getting ready for a hunt, he will hover. Using his hind legs to pull up silk to the front two pair of legs that can be weaved into a stretchy net. Once the net has been woven, the front two pair of legs will hold it. He is now ready to hunt. When he finds his prey, he will swoop down, stretch his net out and snag up his prey. Once caught he can quickly wrap up his prey to enjoy at his leisure.
